Crescent Dogs

I made these for the first time years ago when we discovered we had no buns; kid approved, we've made them since. Quick and inexpensive, you can vary your links, I've also used breadstick dough in place of crescent rolls.

Crescent Dogs

by LadyRhees

Makes 8 servings

1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

8 hot dogs

Optional:

4 slices of American cheese, each cut into 6 strips

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. If desired, slit hot dogs to within 1/2 inch of ends; insert 3 strips of cheese into each slit.
  2. Separate dough into triangles. Wrap dough triangle around each hot dog. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, cheese side up.
  3. Bake 12-15 min or until rolls are golden brown.
  4. Accessorize with sides of your choice. At 11:30 pm, it was fries and mixed veg. :)
