Khadgar's Legendary Ring Of Meat

*Special Thanks to Bovenwhitehoof over in the Queue for coming up with the name and the theme for this recipe posting!

Greeting Commander.

I have come to inform you of a potential kink in our continued efforts to destroy all that threatens Azeroth.

You see, it appears some of your followers have started to create dissention among the ranks. They are unhappy with your choices and seemingly pointless assignments, and they feel they might have chosen the wrong commander to give their loyalty to. Unfortunately, as they spread their complaints, so too spread the general feeling of discord amongst your ranks.

Now, we could simply make an example of a few of your followers, in a effort to bring the rest in line, but I feel that might only be a temporary solution. Instead I will offer to craft you something that will help to keep your followers in line and will help to make them more loyal to you than ever before.

To begin, I will need you to collect a few materials...

First we will need some bread dough. A single batch of basic bread dough should do nicely.

Ah! you have it. Excellent. I knew my faith in you was justified.

Very well, Now if you will step over here and separate that dough into 12 equal sized balls. Then lightly flour each ball, so it is no longer tacky.

Very good. Now, we are ready for the next steps.

For this we will need about 2-3 lbs of lunchmeat, and 24 slices of cheese. What meat and cheese you use is up to you, but I do suggest you avoid American cheese, as that tends to become nothing more that pure liquid. Cheddar and provolone work great.

Next take the 12 balls and roll them till they are about 12 inches long. Then place them on a round baking sheet, so about 1/2 of them hangs over the edge of the pan.

Now, we will take half our lunchmeat, and add it one layer at a time.. then add half our cheese. Then the other half of our lunchmeat, and the other half of our cheese. Make sure the dough on the inside of the ring remains exposed.

Next, begin folding the dough over and pinching it to the center of the ring:

Take this and place it in a cold oven.

In the bottom of the oven, place a pan with 2 cups of boiling water in it.. Then allow this to rise for 1 hour.

After rising you will have this:

Now that we have the ring, we need to figure out what special effect (or topping) we want to put on it. I am sure there is something that would be delicious and wonderful on this very tasty party meal... but what could it be...

Yes, everything, that is perfect. To make the everything topping, you will need:

1 Tbsp Poppy Seeds
1 Tbsp Coarse Salt (sea salt or kosher salt work)
1 Tbsp Dried Minced Onion
1 Tbsp Dried Minced Garlic

Combine them in bowl.

Then take 1 egg yolk and 2 Tbsp water in a separate bowl and mix well.

Brush the egg wash over the bread, and sprinking the everything topping onto it.

Remember that pan we put in the oven for rising? Well, take the water out of that and put it back in the oven on the bottom rack (empty)...

Now preheat your over to 375 degrees.

Also, boil 1 cup of water (or microwave till hot). Once the oven is preheated pour the water into the pan in the bottom of the oven. (the steaming water will add moisture to the oven, which will put a nice chew on the outside of our bread.

Now, put the bread ring in and bake for 25-30 mins.

Congratulation you now have a Legendary Ring of Meat!

You can now cut this into slices, and put a small bowl in the ring with any kind of spread you like (I made a quick chipotle bacon spread for mine: mayo, broken up bacon, little salt and some dried ontion). I also used a spongebob ice cream sundae bowl.. because I was too lazy to find a proper bowl.
